Cupertino had a horrible day today. A shooting spree. And Steve Jobs died from cancer.
There’s a key combination to re-boot my Apple //e without turning the power off. Not just reset the computer, but actually re-boot: if there’s a disk in a drive, and the disk is initialized with DOS, the disk operating system is loaded into RAM, above the high-resolution graphics memory but below Applesoft BASIC.
I learned that when I was ten years old, and my grandmother bought our family the computer. Our neighbors from down the street, who had one themselves, came over to help us set it up when we got it home.
Thanks for all the great computers, Mr. Jobs.
